Administrative-Related Internships

Internships are available in a variety of service areas, including communications, event planning, and research. Gain real life experience working in an international environment, while earning credit towards your degree, testing out a new career path, or just having fun!

Our internships are competitive and postings are subject to change at any time.

Available Internships:

Events Intern

Semester: Spring & Summer 2018
Time commitment: Minimum of 16 hours. Hours to be served between 8-5, Monday-Friday, some evenings

International Institute of St. Louis is seeking an intern to assist the Administration Department in preparing for our Trivia Night (March), The International Golf Tournament (May/June), Festival of Nations (August), Holiday Bazaar (December) and other special events. Schedule is flexible.

Course Credit:

Course credit for the internship will depend on the policies of the institution the student is attending. Institute staff will provide an evaluation of the intern's work in accordance with the institution's standards and procedures. Because interns will come into contact with sensitive information, a confidentiality agreement must be signed prior to the beginning of work. This is an unpaid, volunteer-based internship.

Oral History Intern

Semester: Spring & Summer 2018
Time commitment: 10-15 hours per week; scheduling is flexible.

International Institute of St. Louis is seeking an intern to assist the Institute with its Oral History Project. This includes:

Qualifications:

Background in Cultural Anthropology a plus, self-motivated, basic knowledge of multimedia devices for data collection, and good typing skills.

Social Networking Intern

Semester: Spring & Summer 2018
Time commitment: 15-20 hours per week; scheduling is flexible.

International Institute of St. Louis is seeking an intern to build community interest in immigration issues and the International Institute’s role by attracting and maintaining followers on social media. This is a brand new internship, providing an exciting opportunity for shaping the Institute’s social networking strategy.
