Students can develop their English speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. Meanwhile, they can improve their knowledge of U.S. customs, so they can better live and work in the US. Annually, 2,000 students from more than 100 ethnicities attend English classes.
Who is eligible? Students must be at least 17 years of age and not enrolled in a public secondary education institution.
There is no fee to attend. Instructor costs are underwritten by the Adult Education and Literacy Program of the St. Louis City Public Schools, the Office of Refugee Resettlement of the Department of Health and Human Services and other private and public sources.
