How St. Louisans Can Help
Financial Support through Charitable Giving
It is not possible to provide all sponsored refugees with the required list of goods and services without additional financial support. Refugee cases of one to three family members are our greatest financial challenge due to the costs of housing. We attempt to assign apartment mates for all single refugees, but gender and arrival timing issues can hamper sharing.
Recently we launched the William K. Y. Tao Family Refugee Resettlement Fund to provide direct resettlement support to newly arriving refugee families. Donations of all sizes are an important means of providing essentials to newcomers and addressing emergencies as they arise.

Household and Personal Item Wish List
We are contractually obligated to provide essential household furnishings, e.g., bed and frame, table and chair per family member, lamps in rooms without overhead lights, etc. While we have an arrangement to purchase beds, tables and chairs, we rely on community donations to fit many of the other needs.

Also, please accept our apologies in advance if you offer furnishings that we cannot take. Our small staff cannot always respond quickly to a pick-up request, especially if it is a great distance away from our facility. And WE DO NOT HAVE STORAGE SPACE so we can only accept large donations when we have a household into which we can immediately place the items. Contact Booker Gilliam 314-773-9090, ext. 145, to make inquiries.
Volunteerism
We are always looking for volunteers to help with pre-arrival apartment set-up, buying initial groceries, transporting clients, and with meeting the myriad of other needs that our new arrivals have. Bilingual volunteers who can speak a language of a new arrival population are especially needed.
