Community Engagement
We collaborate closely with other local and regional initiatives, especially when issues and activities impact new American communities. For example, we are leaders in the St. Louis Mosaic Project, which has a goal of attracting more immigrant residents to the St. Louis region. Staff is also active in dozens of other initiatives including the St. Louis Regional Chamber, Immigrant Service Providers Network, and the United Way of Greater St. Louis.
We also serve as a two-way communications bridge between immigrant newcomers and native-born in our community. Festival of Nations, our celebration of multicultural diversity, features the cultures of recently-arrived and long-time St. Louisans. The festival is a regional favorite, drawing a crowd of more than 100,000 annually.
We also advocate on behalf of our constituents and deliver strategic messages to priority audiences to combat anti-immigrant rhetoric and xenophobia. Our cultural competency trainings can help build stronger, more diverse and engaged individuals, businesses and communities.
